Wanney Cottage is a 19th Century former quarryman's cottage, which has been sympathetically renovated, retaining its old charm and yet offering all modern facilities. The cottage is reached by a private road, just off the A68. It is situated in a quite location with the village pub in Ridsdale only a 5 minute walk away.
Located at the edge of Northumberland National Park, near to Kielder Water and Forrest, The Hadrian's Wall and Northumberland Heritage Coast with its sand beaches, picturesque fishing villages and castles, It offers an ideal base to explore the many tourist attractions within the region.
The living room with its woodburning stove and dining area sunroom offers stunning views over open country and The Cheviots and a comfortable bed settee for additional sleeping space.

Wanney Cottage is usually let weekly, from Saturday to Saturday, but short breaks may be available. Please contact the owner. It is available from 4pm on the day of arrival and guests are kindly ask to vacate the cottage no later than 10am on the day of departure.
Prices include heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and the first basket of logs. Additional logs can be purchased from the owner at £5 per basket.
Being on the border of England and Scotland, Northumberland has been the site of a number of battles. The county is noted for its undeveloped landscape of high moorland, a favorite with landscape painters, and now largely protected as a National Park. Northumberland is the most sparsely populated county in England, with only 62 people per square kilometer
Ashington was the birthplace of the three famous footballers Bobby and Jack Charlton in 1937 and 1935 respectively; and Jackie Milburn previously in 1924. In 1978 Steve Harmison, an international cricketer was born here.
Making our cottage the ideal location for walkers,hikers,cyclists,fishermen, historians, and even the football or celebrity enthusiasts amongst you.
