The Old Brewhouse in Cornwall, a cottage in Cornwall: The Old Brewhouse exterior

Near the harbour, sleeps 6, parking, garden, c/ heating+open fire, dogs welcome

The Old Brewhouse, The Harbour, Boscastle, also known as "The Pink House" , is built from traditional local stone, dates from around the 16th century and has been converted to a cheerfully light, spacious, centrally heated cottage retaining its original external appearance. It is set in a little cobbled road with the Valency River opposite, and the famous medieval harbour wall is no more than a five minute walk away. The harbour area is lovely at any time of the year, it can be sunny and tranquil, or bustling with visitors and boats, atmospheric or wild and exhilerating - never dull!

Boscastle was a typical Cornish fishing village, and is considered to be one of Cornwall's most picturesque, with lots of quaint old cottages. Restaurants and pubs with good food are a few moments walk away for when you do not feel like catering for yourself. There are also lovely cafes, craft shops and art galleries, a good baker, small supermarket, newsagent, and an outdoor clothing shop.

The Cottage offers a double bedroom [king sized bed], and two twin bedrooms, lounge, kitchen dining room, bathroom with bath/shower and WC, and also a utility room with shower cubicle, WC and wash basin. All linen [except bath and beach towels] is provided. There is a fridge, a freezer, electric oven and hob, microwave, tumble dryer, washing machine, TV, DVD, small radio/CD player, standard telephone, plus books including novels and wild-life guides. There is free wifi available at the National Trust cafe just a couple of hundred metres away down towards the harbour, and at local pubs etc. There is no extra charge for heating and electricity at The Brewhouse, and as well as the oil-fired central heating, there is an open fire in the sitting room [logs or coal can be used]. At the front is a a walled garden with lawn, a patio with picnic bench, a garage with private parking space, and there is a small south facing terrace area at the rear of the cottage.
Well behaved dogs are welcome, free of charge, as long as they are kept off furniture are not left unsupervised, and are not allowed to foul the garden.
Tintagel is close by, Rock, Padstow, Port Isaac, Bodmin Moor, Crackington Haven, Trebarwith Strand and Bude all within 15 miles, The Eden Project, Lanhydrock House and Garden, and Trago Mills not much further so there are plenty of lovely places to visit in the area. When visiting the cottage you can enjoy the sea, lovely wide sandy beaches, dramatic craggy coastline, secluded coves, nearby moorland and wonderful wooded river valleys at any time of the year.
We accept payment by bank transfer, cheque, or debit card and most credit cards [regret not American Express or Diners Club]. We ask for a £50 per week deposit, with the balance due 4 weeks before holiday start date. We do not take a security deposit, but ask that guests replace any minor items [such as crockery etc] which get broken, so that the next guests are not inconvenienced.
