Charming characterful villa with private enclosed garden in excellent location

St. Remy is a lovely old walled town at the foot of the Alpilles, famous for its Roman Antiques, Wednesday market and Van Gogh connection, with dozens of restaurants, outdoor cafes and chic boutiques.

The house is a one storey detached Provencal villa in a quiet location not far from St Paul Mausole yet just 10 minutes stroll from the lively centre. It's my second home. I have been letting it for twenty five years and have had numerous recommendations. It has a pleasant garden, is light and bright and comfortably furnished with a well equipped kitchen. Many people return year after year. Visitors love it as much as I do - many describe it as a home from home. The peaceful well laid out garden is ideal for relaxing. There are several pleasant villages within reach by car or bicycle. Avignon & Arles are 30 minutes drive, Aix & Nimes about 45 minutes, the Camargue, Pont du Gard, Marseille,the Mediterranean, the Luberon, Ventoux, are all about an hour's drive. There's reasonable public transport so a car is not essential. You can reach St Remy by road, air or TGV.

St Remy sits right at the heart. of Provence with its beautiful scenery, vines, olives, lavender, market, fetes & festivals galore, and sunshine. Provence has something for everyone. Walking, cycling, golf, museums, Roman remains, historic towns, attractive villages, wine tasting, eating, cooking – whatever your interest, Provence caters for it. Be as active as you want or just sit and watch the world go by

Accommodation: 64 sq m, comfortable sitting room with French windows onto to terrace; 2 bedrooms (1 small), dining room, well-equipped kitchen, (dishwasher, washing machine), shower room/WC. Spacious gravelled garden with several distinct areas for sun and shade. Plenty of garden furniture. Easy parking. Gas central heating. WiFi. No smokers or animals. Adults only.

As the second bedroom is small I limit lettings to two people. The house is ideal for two. It is not suitable for wheelchair users.

Prices are for one week. Tourist taxes, fuel and water are included. If the central heating is used I charge for gas used. £250 refundable security deposit. Household linen hire £25 a week.

To get there : TGV to Avignon, air to Marseille/other local airports, car from the channel, about 600 miles. In summer the TGV runs directly from St Pancras to Avignon.
